City of Bloomington seeking iconic photos of Bloomington
Message from Laura Collins:  Hello! I am the Digital Communications Specialist for the City of Bloomington in the Office of the Mayor. I have been tasked with designing ads to appear in Bloom magazine for the entire year of 2019. These ads are meant to promote Bloomington as a dynamic, beautiful, cultured place to live all phases of life. I was thinking it would be really meaningful for the City to feature photos taken by talented members of our very own community, along with text that gives credit to the person who took the photo. I'm hoping to acquire photos of iconic Bloomington landscapes, landmarks, and festivals - photos of the Buskirk Chumley, Lotus, Krampus, Farmers Market, Lake Griffy, a couple riding their bikes through downtown, 4th Street Festival, Rose Hill Cemetary...anything that is quintessential Bloomington. Unfortunately, I do not have money in the budget to offer compensation to the photographers - this would be a "for the love of the community" type endeavor. I'd be happy to provide further details. Please contact me at collins@bloomington.in.gov

I always thought of photography as a naughty thing to do — that was one of my favorite things about it, and when I first did it, I felt very perverse.
