Stone Head Conservancy Fall Kick-Off

  • Stone Head Nature Preserve Brown County IN United States (map)

The Stone Head Conservancy will host a day of nature walks at the Stone Head Nature Preserve in scenic Brown County. Enjoy birding at 8:00 a.m. when we will cover the Zimmerman Wetland Bird Habitat. Other property tours at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. We will visit the riparian corridor along Middle Fork of Salt Creek, the upland forest, or the upper meadow habitat overlooking the valley to the west. At 1:00 p.m., there will be a brief presentation about the Stone Head Nature Preserve and the Stone Head Conservancy.
This is a FREE event, but a reservation would be helpful if you are planning to attend any part of the day. Please let Susan Hengeveld (shengeve@indiana.edu) know by Monday, September 21, how many family members and friends will be coming with you. Bring your own picnic lunch—our grills will be available for your use beginning at 12:00 noon.  (Waterproof boots, bug repellant, and sun protection are highly recommended.)
