On June 13th I will lead a small group of photographers on a mini field trip.  For the last several years I have taken photographs of the Indiana Limestone Symposium and this year one of the Symposium’s organizers, Amy Brier, has contacted me with an invitation to attend their Open House on Thursday, June 13th 1:00-4:00 pm. 

This is an annual event that brings in stone carvers from across the USA and even from other countries to make stone carvings from southern Indiana limestone which has become legendary around the world.  There is no money involved for photographers but the organizers are seeking images to use on their Facebook page and for their promotional purposes of the event.  This is an opportunity to photograph interesting men and women who are true crafts persons and artists in stone carving. 

Please consider joining me Thursday, June 13th from 1:00-4:00 at the Bybee Stone Quarry in Ellettsville, Indiana where the Limestone Symposium is held each year.  I am inviting members of the Point and Shoot Focus Group and the Portrait Focus Group to consider showing up and providing the symposium with a few of your favorite photographs.  Although I’m inviting both of my Focus Groups anyone in the BPC would be welcome to attend.

If you are interested you can either meet me at 1:00 at the Bybee Stone Quarry or if persons wanting to attend wish to car pool, you may show up at 12:30 pm at Kip May Photography studio, 141 N. Adams Street, and we can car pool and caravan.
