We're excited to see many of you for the first meeting of the Critique Focus Group. This will be a hybrid meeting, with a Zoom option available for those that can't meet in person.
The goals of this group are to provide honest peer review in a supportive environment, as well as to sharpen photography skills through discussion and feedback. The focus group will view submitted images one by one and have a productive conversation about what works in each image, what doesn't, and what could be improved in the future. Language should be constructive and supportive-- no bullying or belittling will be tolerated.
It is optional to submit images for critique, although it is encouraged. Jaime and I ask that everyone who wants to submit images (up to 3) please do so before Monday, Jan 30th. Images can be submitted directly to me (lisajospencer@gmail.com) or Jaime (higonzilla@gmail.com) or both.
And finally, a homework assignment!
Please find the time to watch this YouTube video by landscape photographer Nigel Danson. The tone and language of this critique are similar to what we're looking to achieve in our own focus group-- insightful ideas, notes on composition and impact, and a generally positive, honest delivery.
Looking forward to seeing all of you next week!
