History of Photography

Focus Group

Our goal is to study the history of photography from the development of the first true amateur camera with flexible rolled film marketed by Kodak in 1888 to today’s contemporary DSLR and cell phone cameras We will review famous photographers and their photographic styles as well as photographic media in publishing books, newspapers, and magazines. Additionally, we will touch on the friction between pictorial and straight photography.

Our meetings are hybrid in format (in-person + Zoom). Please contact Teddy Alfrey if you would like to be added to our member list.
