This will be a virtual meeting. If you are a member of the FUG group you will receive an invitation to join the meeting shortly before the meeting. If you are not a FUG member but a BPC club member and wish to join us please contact me. If you have images to share please email them to me at least 24 hours before the meeting. This photo was taken at McCormick’s Creek on Trail 7 (across from Wolf Cave trail) about 50 yards before the first spring crosses the trail.
This will be a photo share with each person who wishes to share, allowed to share up to 10 images. However, since we are not gathering in person you will need to email me (or Dropbox or other service) your images. It is recommended to send only 3-4 images in an email to avoid choking up your system which sometimes only allows files up to a certain size to be emailed, so it may take 3 or 4 emails from each person to get them all sent.
The Portrait Focus Group photo share will be conducted using Zoom. Here is information about downloading Zoom to your computer. About an hour before the meeting I will email you a link that you will need in order to join in on the session. It would be helpful if you can send me your images by Monday evening, but I will try to squeeze you in if you send them the last moment (please try to avoid that, it takes me awhile to download and arrange).
Let’s give it a try and see what we can do. If nothing else it’ll be a new experience.

We have a room reserved at the Ellettsville Library. This will be a Hodge Podge where we will bring in items from home that have some aspect of color, shape, texture, etc. that might be fun to photograph up close. So start looking around to find objects to bring. Also bring your cameras and we will have fun putting together unique shots of the items that have been brought. If anyone has a tech tip that they would like to share, please contact Nola Donley.

So start looking around to find objects to bring that have interesting form, color, texture, etc. for close up photos. Macro Focus Group Field Trip: Garfield Park Conservatory (Indianapolis) Annual Orchid Show
To carpool, meet at the back of the Kroger parking lot on N. Kinser Pike, It takes about an hour to get to Garfield Park, which is at 2505 Conservatory Drive. The annual orchid show is a wonderful photo opportunity. Many of the orchids are displayed against a black backdrop, which, along with the extraordinary colors and shapes, makes for dramatic photographs. Entry fee is $4.00 per person. Tripods are not allowed in the conservatory. We'll have lunch afterward, or if you prefer and the weather is good, a picnic lunch in the garden outside the conservatory is a possibility. Plan to have fun at this event. We will photograph items from home that have interesting colors, textures, and forms. Close-ups of unique combinations make for dramatic shots.
Also, if you have a special technique that you would like to share that will be great.

This will be our yearly meeting to share photos, turn in your choices for the yearly Focus Group Show in December, and brainstorm some events for next year. Please spend some time this coming week picking out your favorite new Macros.
Bring your entries for the presentation on a thumb drive or CD so Tammy Brown can put together our show. You can bring up to 6 photos, renamed so the titles look like this: YourNameMacro01 (etc. up to 06). If you can't make the Oct. 28 meeting, please see that Tammy gets your images by Nov.7. Prints may be a traditional silver gelatin or another photographic printing processes. For images to be projected, please bring them on a thumb drive.
